A Legacy of Philanthropy

Since its incorporation in 1978, Cynthia Woods Mitchell and George P. Mitchell, and the Cynthia and George Mitchell Foundation have distributed or pledged more than $800 million in grants to causes, programs, and institutions.

An estimated 80 percent of the aforementioned gifts have benefited science or environmental and sustainability science-related fields, including environmental research.
